Been absent....

Hey peeps. Sorry I haven't posted for a while. My nails kept splitting so I cut them off a while back. They are still quite short but enough to start painting again so I must pick up my polishes from my niece who I let borrow as she also loves nail art etc.

Loving Barry M polish

At the moment I absolutely love Barry M nail polish. Today I used Watermelon Gelly and a Rimmel polish to do gradients and this is how it turned out....

On Thursday I will be painting 2 of my friends nails and they both want the Barry M watermelon. 

I am sure in time I will get better at doing gradient nails but as a beginner they are a bit wonky.

Gradient...

I did gradient nails for the 1st time just now. Quite pleased with it. I used red and pink as thought they would go well together.

Will be trying different colours when I have more :)

New Polish I had to buy today

 I popped into Boots today to find red and white nail polishes so i can do a valentines design. There were so many to choose from but I bought Maybelline as the red was gorgeous. Once I have done my nails I will post a photo with the result.

These are Power red #349 and winter baby #130

Dotting Tools

Tonight I used dotting tools for the first time. I have seen pictures and videos on YouTube of this and bought some. 

I'm not an arty person at all but I'm willing to try anything. The things people can do to their nails is fantastic and can't wait to get better. 

The colours i used were: Rimmel Strawberry Fizz #025 for the base, Rimmel Hawaiian Punch #140 and Rimmel Black Cherry #193. 

As you can see, I still have a long way to go but I'm enjoying every minute.

The Beginning...

Just before New Year I decided that I was going to stop biting my nails again. I have bitten them since I was a child due to feeling bad about scratching another student at primary school.

I have a fabulous friend, Lo, who inspired me to start nail art. She does lovely designs etc and can't wait to show what I have done.

I'm still only just learning by getting advice and searching the net for ideas and maybe also make some great friends in the process. 

The photo here just shows how short my nails still are so will show more once they have grown to a good length
